Found a huge puddle of coolant on the garage floor. Took into a local repair shop. Found that the Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing had a crack in it. The shop replaced the part and then found that the sensor from the new part from NAPA did not communicate correctly with the computer. Had to order a part direct from Mini (BMW) to fix the issue. So, how to begin? Goodyear lost parts to my Mini and couldn't find why my Mini had a check engine light after they finished working on it. My Mini then went to the dealer that said I had 3 oil leaks and a bad turbo. They said that 2 of the oil leaks were nothing to worry about. After leaving the dealer I took my Mini to another shop for a second opinion. They said that my turbo had a bad hose, I needed a new belt, and that the 2 oil leaks that were nothing are actually pretty substantial. All in I had to spend $1700 out of pocket.
