112000 mi | Car pulled to the right when braking. Figures it was a brake issue. Flushed out and replaced brake fluid. Tried to use a manual brake fluid suction tool from harbor freight but it was too slow. Had to get someone to help me pump and hold the brake pedal to properly bleed brakes when new fluid was swapped. |

62000 mi | After this I noticed the new right front rotor was wearing differently than the right front rotor. Hawk Mazda thought it was "normal" wear until I convince them the pad was seized on the rotor (which it was). Moral of the story, don't go to Hawk Mazda in Joliet, IL for service. I honestly think their wasn't anything wrong my Mazda until I brought it into the dealer, I don't believe in coincidences like that. Thanks for checking in. |

Brake line between ABS and rear splitter leaking at ABS. Replaced flared pipe between those two parts. I inspected the "failed" part after repair was completed, and there was a scratch across the flare. Looked like manufacturing defect to me, but car well out of warranty. In speaking with mechanic, he seemed oblivious to need to inspect surface of flared pipe connections. In fact, he called the joint a tapered pipe thread until he brought failed part out and I told him it was definitely straight threads. |
62000 mi C $200 |
Replaced both rear brake discs, loosened gripping caliper, new pads. |
