1000 mi Drove w Toyota's service specialist. 1. snap/clunk heard when accelerating from cold start; 2. drag or not so smooth shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st. Both appear to be conform to design and build per test using a identical vehicle.

Transmission pan was wet underneath. Thought it was pan seal, but was reported as drive-shaft seal. Required seal replacement and perfomrmed fluid change (WS fluid is expensive). 
4000 mi Noise from transmission (whining) started in Oct or beginning of Nov. Dealership said that is a normal sound even though it was not there in Aug, Sept, and most of Oct. Informed to come back if it got worse. It is getting worse.
