Diagnosis:failed alternator drained battery causing safe mode,made engine appear to be seized forcing major teardown to diagnose. Final diagnosis was failed alternator draining the battery causing low voltage and resulting in safe mode. The engine's inability to turnover was because of the failed alternator. No one had seen this failure before, causing the misdiagnosis of a failed cam chain and the disaster that results from that. |
