2014 Chevrolet Volt 4dr Hatch

149-horsepower Electric + Gas CVT FWD

63000 mi

US $18
TPMS light came on several days prior but went out and dealer couldn’t diagnose without a light. Had the tires rotated while they had it.
34000 mi Electric heat not working. Faulty part diagnosed and ordered.
43000 mi Replaced broken passenger window regulator
90520 mi

C $450
Electric Heat stopped working (cooling and AC still worked and Gas based heat Still worked ) Electric Heater coolant pump had to be replaced was around 400$ including diagnosis and is a fairly common issue in the 2014's
117800 mi

C $10
Root cause of issue likely caused by a collision bumper replacement as the backup camera failed a year after and the backup dome light also no longer functions. (the backup camera flips to a blank black screen with the sensors showing) Still Researching backup Dome light not working after replacement, verified there is power to the bulb housing of 14.x Volts with a voltage tester and no bulb installed unknown cause at this time.
65000 mi

US $800
Cabin heater pump replacement
52700 mi

C $440
12v battery didn’t hold charge
34000 mi

US $600
USB jack did not work, the cable was replaced.
58000 mi

US $400
CEL came on, car wouldn't charge. Replaced 12 V batter, solved problem.
33300 mi Backup camera stopped working.
9500 mi The horns stopped working.
6000 mi Unable to charge. Traced problem to faulty receptacle on car. Replaced same. Micro-cracking in housing leading to ground fault.
14000 mi Reprogram HVAC unit due to blowing cold air when in 'ECO' mode, per bulletin
3720 mi I had the same issue, twice, as a 2013 model owner, namely coming out and finding all my windows rolled down. Each time nothing was stolen and it wasn't raining. GM says I must have accidentally held down the unlock button on the fob.
9920 mi Car's NON ADJUSTABLE internal clock did not switch time when DST kicked in. This resulted in incorrect estimated charging times of 1 hr. Console clock is only correct after manual adjustment and leaving it in manual. 3 Hours wasted @ dealer.
10540 mi After 5 days, clock DST issue is unresolved. Additional problems now with Radio since they played with it. Awaiting call for a "system" replacement. Not impressed.
5420 mi Daylight Savings Time not functioning. 2nd trip to dealer who tried previously to update firmware but instead deleted some radio functions in addition to no DST. I am told that complete radio was now replaced. Seems to all work now.
12400 mi Driver's outside door lock release button stopped working. Good thing there's a remote, an app, and three other doors that still work.
14040 mi DST issue was not resolved at the last visit when dealer replaced the audio unit. I did tell them that it was the car' s own internal clock that was not switching over but they did not listen. I guess they know better. STILL NOT FIXED!
28300 mi ABS came on once this fall when braking when there clearly was no reason for it due to low speed, flat road condition, etc. I did not bother to see the dealer. Similarly to last year, and at about the same time, meaning during very wet and damp weather, radio/center console panel stopped responding completely when I tried to lower audio volume. This meant that for about 10 minutes, I had no ventilation controls, nothing, except for emergency flashers. Shutting the car and re-starting did not fix the problem. This happened twice within 20 minutes. The last time I went in they said "no fault found". I'm anxiously waiting to trade this dangerous car in for a different brand.
32860 mi Not really a repair, more like I've given up. Car still has not switched to DST and we are 30 March now. Also on two occasions audio system went dead i.e. "greyed out apps" while driving. This meant no phone, no volume controls, no cd play function, no AM, FM. The ventilation "app" like button still functioned. No amount of "rebooting" fixed it. After 30 minutes or so parked, it was like nothing ever happened. Seriously tired of these problems.
34000 mi Replaced a front collision sensor under warranty
37700 mi Insufficient charge in 12V battery caused car to not start. Dealer diagnosed electrical system and determined problem was with 12V battery.
46500 mi Cabin heat did not work in EV mode. Reprogramed and it is fine.
