6200 mi Vapor Leak
142000 mi

US $6800
Known TSI engine problem of O-rings scoring the cylinders and causing significant oil consumption. Supposed to only apply to 2012 and earlier models, but this is apparently not so. The repair seems to have been well developed and executed.
5000 mi fuel vapor hose loose
55000 mi

US $8
vehicle is burning oil and need to occasionally add oil to crankcase. Amount depends on how long I have driven before noticing.
84000 mi

US $1200
Leaking water pump
85000 mi Oil level kept dropping (1 quart every 250 miles). Mechanic diagnosed leaking piston rings. Repair deferred due to estimated cost ($9000).
92000 mi

US $771
Check engine and EPC lights came on; replaced coil packs and spark plugs
48000 mi

US $250
Noticed what seemed to be oil near the dip stick. I had purchased a nice aftermarket dip stick from ECS Tuning so I could easily check the oil. This oil near the dip stick made me think the engine was building internal pressure. After some internet research I realized the oil separator was failing. This is sort of what us old time mechanics call the PCV valve. On a regular car it would be $10. On the Audi Q5 the separator was $250. Ouch.
