May 201818449 mi | You need another category for computer module, or maybe the stop/start system because many newer cars are implementing this technology. The stop/start function stopped working again. Again the PCM module was replaced, there apparently multiple modules that report that report to the Power Control Management (PCM) module; Auto stop function is deactivated if any of the following conditions ar present: --Ambient and coolant temperature correlation does not match specified values --Ambient temperature is less than 14 degrees F. --Battery temperature is less than 32 degrees F or greater than 131 degrees F --HVAC system demand is high --HVAC system defrost has been selected --Battery charge is low --Battery improperly charged (must be charged or jumped with "chassis ground" for the current to be measured by the battery sensor module. --Vehicle has not been allowed to sit for at least 3 hours over 1 week. --Parasitic current draw 100 mA or greater After intensive work on their part, they were finally able to get all these modules reporting the correct information to the main Power Control Module, that allows the engine to stop running when at a full stop & resume immediately after your foot leaves the brake. A goodly number of customers would NEVER report this problem because of their dislike of having the engine shut off during a dead stop. But I noticed a change in gas mileage. |
