1400 mi | Two bolts were missing from A/C line brackets under the hood. Apparently missed during manufacture. The dealer installed new ones. |
2052 mi | The SiriusXM tuner would freeze and stutter, like a skipping CD, but faster. Usually the radio buttons were still responsive, but I had to turn the radio off at least once to stop it. Not a huge deal, since we decided to not renew the subscription. However, the "head unit" does a lot of functions, including navigation, radio, etc. I want everything to work for peace of mind and for future resale. The dealer replaced the unit on the THIRD visit. This felt like a waste of time. On the first visit they said they couldn't replicate the problem. I asked the tech to come out to the car with me at the end of the visit and the fault happened. On the second visit they ran diagnostics and couldn't find anything wrong, but said they would replace it anyway. The tech remembered the problem, thankfully. On the third visit they had failed to record my appointment, but the unit they had ordered was in stock. So they said they'd do it that day -- and that programming it required ~3 hours. After stressing that I needed the car by 5:00 in order to pick up my kids who are in car seats, I took the loaner. I called back at 4:00 and they said it wouldn't be ready that day. So I had to scramble to find car seats to get my kids, then go pick up my car the next day. Bottom line: The main frustration was with how the dealer handled the repair. This is a big variable with a new-car purchase, since the time and hassle far outstripped the value of the SXM tuner. (Though having all functions working is important to me for resale.) |
17341 mi | Driver window started making a LOT of noise during operation, but continued to work, just more slowly. The problem appeared after picking up the car from the last dealer visit, making this the THIRD trip in a month. The part was replaced and resolved the problem. |
