The second 100000 miles

Three years ago, I bought an Audi A4 convertible, with 95K on it, Currently I have 126K on it. At time of purchase I had the timing belt done and complete tune up.

Car is still rock solid and enjoyable to drive. I have done some minor repairs: New brakes front and rear, at end of first year of ownership. I had a airbag light come on, which was the result of the kids knocking into the connector under the passenger seat on the floor.

Repleaced the seat memeory switch because the other one was stuck.

All routine maintainence. My plan is to put as many miles on this car as I can. It is my daily driver for 7 months of the year, and occasional driver when there is no snow or salt on the roads thru the winter.

I'm going to simply point you to another discussion recently on another user's inquiry about used Audi experiences. My response regarding my 2007 A4 Avant is there. I'm just now at ~100K miles and am content.

I bought a 2009 Audi A4 Quattro in April of 2016. No warranty from the used car dealer of course. The CEL would come on for a solenid issue which according to Carfax, had already been changed in 2012. Oil usage was extremly high with it starting to take one quart every 1K miles last Spring 2016 to 1 quart every gas fillup by September 2016. The car has been in the shop numerous times over the year I have had it. In December of 2016, all coil packs were replaced with a tune up. In January, I had a similar issue with cylinders 1 and 3 continuing to misfire. By the end of January, the engine completely burned up what was due to Audi's Oil Consumption fiasco during those model years prior to 2012. My car was in the garage while we waited for a 2012 (when the oil consumption issue was fixed) engine to replace. Dropped the 2012 in, luckily I took the warranty on it and within two weeks that engine blew on the highway. Of course the salvage yard tried to deny the warranty. So now I'm sitting here again carless, almost lost my job from it.

When this engine gets replaced, it will be promptly traded in. Because at this point including what I put down on the car, replacing the engine, and all of the repairs, I'm about $12,000 in the red. (not counting lost days at work).
