One word: AWD. Audi has one of the best, if not the best full time AWD systems out there. The 2.0T engine is a gem, pumping out 100hp/liter, though not quite as thrifty on gas as the sticker claims (I get 24mpg city/hwy combined, on average).
Nothing too outrageous or "futuristic", and ages like a fine bottle of wine. In fact, my previous B5 A4 is still considered "good looking" a decade later. I especially like the "rounded butt" of the wagon, which is part of the reason I bought one.
Top notch, enough said. Everywhere (except maybe the center console around the handbrake) in the cabine is soft to the touch. It makes everyone else, include BMW and Mercedes, look plasticy and "old styled" respectively by comparison.
