High speed shimmy in steering wheel. Remedied by road force balancing the wheels and installing updated control arms. Low speed shudder in steering wheel at parking lot speeds. Remedied by a new-style power steering hose.

After having the control arms replaced via the TSB at Audi Raleigh, the highway vibration is still there. Considered trading on a new Q5 2.0T but residual value was terrible on Q5 and trade-in value on A4 horrific. No clue what to do now!
Got my control arms and power steering hose replaced due to vibration issues. Covered under warranty.

The steering was very noisy when turning the wheels left and right, the dealer order the part to fix it, they said it was a known problem but I can't find the paper explaining the exact problem.

Like many 2009 Audi A-4's, mine has a steering wheel vibration at 65-75 mph. Factory knows about this. (See Edmund's site). New lower control arms and bushings are on order.
Exactly as Edmunds described it. Vibration in steering wheel at 65-75 mph. If TTAC would spend less time worrying about General Motors, and more on nuts and bolts problems like this and ones many others are experiencing, it wouldn't be such a bad thing.
The lower control arms were replaced, the wheels were hard road balanced, and the car, so far at least, feels perfect. Problem appears to be resolved.
It feels like the vehicle is not driving smooth. You can feel some annoying vibration coming in to the cabin at 55+mph on smooth roads.

The shimmy was still there when I traded the A4, although the dealer had road forced balanced the wheels twice. We were at the point where he was going to request replacement control arms for the fix.

Left tie rod end loose, causing vibration at 65-80 mph. I had both tie rods ends replaced as a precaution, $500. Right front upper control arm bushing noted to be ripped. Both sides (upper) preventatively replaced, $700.

Terrible wheel shudder between 55-65 MPH. Steering wheel literally shook in your hands. Tried to balance tires and did nothing. Consulting with Audi on issue.
Steering wheel vibrates at highway speed, starts at 65-75mph and disappears or smoothens at 80mph and above. Update: I've talked to Audi about this problem and they have told me that they are redesigning a new power steering hose, available Jan 2010.
