I have had one repair in the 15 months I have owned the car: The "check engine" light went on a few months ago. The dealer (Audi Manhattan) fixed it without incident.

I got my car CPO with 45k miles on it. Several issues came up within a few months: engine oil pressure sender, rear door seal (whistling), control arm. I expected this, and everything was fixed without issue by Herb Chambers Audi in Burlington, MA. I also got a service/warranty history which listed a number of other items (backup camera, thermostat, and some others I don't recall offhand) repaired under the previous owner. I've been satisfied with the reliability overall and like the car very much.
Since the initial set of things the car has been perfectly reliable, currently at 69k miles.

I bought my 2002 new and now with 145,000 miles I think it is well worth the investment. I have had the normal repairs (sensors, CV boots, timing belt replaced etc) with only 1 serious issue - my catalytic converters were replaced due to a faulty gasket repair discovered on a road trip by another Audi dealer in Sacramento. University Audi (now Seattle Audi) not only paid for the fix, they refunded the money from the faulty repair.
This car still drives as nice and strong as my 2013 A4. Highly recommended. And only use dealers for the service.
