Why the 2002 BMW 5-Series?

Materials & workmanship

This car is extremely high quality with tight panel fits and soft touch materials.

Handling

Like many BMWs, this car has tight hydraulic power steering that transmits feel to the driver; the handling is confident and capable.

Powertrain performance

The engine is very smooth and willing. It has an abundance of power, yet gets decent fuel economy (albeit on premium).

Safety & braking

This car was ranked as a "top safety pick" by the IIHS. Its brakes are strong, linear, and fade-resistant.

Why Not the 2002 BMW 5-Series?

Dealer practices

BMW dealerships (or stealerships) are EXPENSIVE and often less capable than a good mechanic.

Rear seat room & comfort

The rear seat is comfortable for two, but three is a squeeze.

Reliability & durability

This car is known to have a plethora of problems. I have yet to see if it will hold up well for me.
