Introduction

It's got around 170,000 on the clock now and it's leaving as soon as I can find the title. Were it not for living in the rust belt I'd still be driving it. I bought it when it in 2005 when it was three years old with 39,000 on it. I had no catastrophic failures, in fact the car still has the original spark plugs! The only mechanical repair that could be considered a failure was the rt frt spring broke; I didn't even know it happened until I heard it rubbing on the inner sidewall of the tire. I did $10,500 worth of damage to the drivers side body & suspension when I ditched/rolled on its side six weeks after I bought it. Got it out of the shop and drove through two sets of tires, a couple of brake jobs, a multitude of oil changes, some air filters and just recently and alternator and battery. The fuel lines rotted out, followed by the trans cooler lines and now the brake lines are gone. The right side of the car still looks pretty good, the repaired side has looked bad for a while (crappy painter who was too lazy to bend over and cover the underside of the quarter, wheel opening and door bottoms). All in all it was a very dependable car, luxuriously appointed, quiet, well mannered and subtle. I wish GM still made these big luxo cruisers.
