The XLR will get a constant 22 mpg in town driving. On a long trip from Portland Oregon to Glaser Nat. Park in Montana, driving a constant 73 mph using cruise control I was getting 30 mpg. Driving 75 mph I get 28 mpg. The ride is fantastic because of the magnetic shocks and the transvers springs.
Driving with the top down is a real pleasuer. The top goes up and down with the touch of a button and in about 20 to 30 seconds. The BOSE sound system with speakers in the headrest of each set if fantastic with top or down.
Press the gas peddle down to the floor and hang on. This 32 valve 325 hp Northstar plants you back into your seat. Under the all Fiberglass outter shell is a C6 Corvette. This car is not as fast or as tight on the curves, it's a refined Corvette but it still takes a corner like it's on rails. With Adaptive Cruise Control, ABS, Traction Control, Stability Control, brakes that bring this 3600 pound master piece to a very quick hault.
Change the Mobil 1 5w30 oil when the computer tells you it's time. Rotate the wheels when you change the oil and you're good to go for many many miles.
I've owned several different cars, a 2004 Jaguar XKR, the seats were very uncomfortable. A 1995 Ford SHO, great sleeper car, lots of power, nice ride but after 7 years you can not by parts for this car. A 1988 Corvette, Great Car!
