I replaced my 16 Traverse with a 22 Traverse LT-AWD. There isn't another car in its class with the interior space or comfort for long trips. Journeyed from Columbus, OH to Hamilton, NJ with wife and three grandkids (2x8s & an 11). Everyone had space and USBs to plug in their electronics. There was plenty of room for luggage (I laid the single seat down in back and used the storage under the floor in the cargo compartment).
Car is easy to drive and keeps the speed set on the cruise control despite going through the mountains in PA. This is the only car we have that the driver's seat doesn't become uncomfortable after a couple of hours. Everyone was comfortable and it was a great trip.
I did notice some differences between my 22 and my 16 which were a bit of a surprise. The 22 no longer has driving lights in the up models--headlights are now low in the bumper where the driving lights used to be. My daughter mistook my DRLs and turnsignals for headlights. First thing I noticed was the rearview mirror--just a non-electric manual mirror unless you get the camera in the mirror. Apparently that changed in 18 with the second generation.
Checking oil seems easier. On my 16 it was a long reach to get to the dipstick. With the 22 it is readily visible with the hood open. Either they raised the engine or lowered the grill / radiator.
I liked the battery location in the 16, in the floor in the second row, right side. Battery wasn't exposed to dirt and heat of an engine compartment. 22 has the battery in the engine compartment. We'll see how this one lasts, my 16 was still on the original battery with no problems.
I got the tow package on this one. I knew it would give me heavy duty cooling and the selector to change transmission shift parameters. I really didn't expect it would also include the receiver hitch! Good deal for $650.
Chevy came thru!
