4dr Minivan, ext. 180-horsepower 3.3L V6 4-speed automatic FWD

Why the 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan?

Driving position & visibility

Relatively high seating position and low windshield area gives great view of the road. Large windows and large mirrors leave minimal blindspots.

Why Not the 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan?

Depreciation

More of a depreciation problem when it comes time to sell. Great bargain when you buy, but is it worth it when you sell for so much less...?

Quietness

Relatively quiet at 70-80 mph, although wind noise becomes very apparent on windy days and road noise is fairly obtrusive. Tire noise is nearly nonexistent though. An annoyance is tranny whine at slower city speeds and you can hear the suspension on bumps

Feature availability

Not very many features available on the 4th generation Grand Caravan as far as electronics go (stereo, navigation, etc.).

Materials & workmanship

Interior is very cheap. Hard plastics feel utilitarian.

Handling

Very compliant city manners. On the highway, the slightly overboosted power steering always keeps me correcting for motions which can get tiresome. Also very wobbly and unsafe on days with very high winds at highway speeds.
