Nice car, but front seats could be better. Close to a deal breaker. see full Dodge Grand Caravan review |

2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Powertrain: Pros | ||

2011 | 4dr Minivan, ext. 283-horsepower 3.6L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
The powertrain is smooth and powerful and shifts aggressive if pushed or economically if set to “eco” mode. see full Dodge Grand Caravan review |
2010 | 4dr Minivan, ext. 197-horsepower 3.8L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
This van has the 3.8L V6. It is very under power at 198 HP. The transmission bucks & bangs at inconsistent intervals. Sometimes it will do this a couple days in a row, then not for a week or more. The fuel mileage is not too bad. see full Dodge Grand Caravan review |
2010 | 4dr Minivan, ext. 197-horsepower 3.8L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
The 3.8 V6 is underpowered for the weight of the vehicle. It does OK in hills and mountains with my family of 4 and our luggage for a trip. When loaded down it struggles to get up to highway speed and to maintain speed in hills. The transimission clunks at times and sometimes hard shifts, but it has done that since we bought it to no adverse affects on the powertrain. We've had it for 100,000 miles and have had no issues with powertrain performance or reliability despite the clunking and being underpowered. see full Dodge Grand Caravan review |

2012 | 4dr Minivan, ext. 283-horsepower 3.6L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
This thing has some ridiculous number of gears, and you can feel the shifts as you go along. The engine has to be spun up to get the big power-it didn't seem nearly as powerful as it's rating. see full Dodge Grand Caravan review |
2010 | 4dr Minivan, ext. 197-horsepower 3.8L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
Very underpowered with the 3.8 L V6. The transmission is clunky, bucks and slams into gear at times. It doesn't do it all the time, but at inconsistent times. see full Dodge Grand Caravan review |
