Cosmetically looks sleek & good
Cheap, cheap plastic everywhere. Visor mirror broke & fell off. Cooler compartment is hard to close.
1.4 L 4 cylinder engine is totally gutless & noisy. Not worth the savings in fuel mileage. Don't even try to pass a car/truck when going up a hill.
Handles well but make sure you get good all season tires. Tires that came with car were useless in snow-could not even get out of driveway with a few inches of snow/ice.
Cheap tires come with vehicle.
Safety looks OK
Ride very smooth
Quiet when you don't have to accelerate.
Lots of storage-reason why I bought this vehicle.
Terrible workmanship
Not reliable- too many parts do not last . Too much plastic under hood which breaks down prematurely. Many parts should have been made of metal instead. Mechanics have told me that the Dodge Journey has ben made poorly & they do a lot of repairs on this model.
I would not EVER,EVER recommend or buy a Journey or any Dodge product again.
Engine lights, early repairs on suspension,brakes ,fan belts & drives with pulleys(plastic). Worst of all no aftermarket exhaust parts available. Needed to replace cracked resonator only.BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THE DEALER SAID I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE EXHAUSE SYSTEM ( $1000 + ) BECAUSE IT ONLY COMES IN ONE PIECE. HAVE FUN IF YOU NEED A MUFFLER REPLACEMENT!!!!! $50 labour to change battery!!!!!! on top of battery price at dealer.
I Stay away from my dealership because they don't much care about customer satisfaction, only are money grabbers. When they checked tire pressure, left ALL the valve covers off the tires-had to get new ones. Don't expect much sympathy here.
My description of the 2009 Dodge Jouney is 3 words- cheap,cheaper,cheapest.
