That was the last year of a three year model run, so that is a particularly reliable year for this car. The only places having some issues in a few of the cars are the climate system, brakes, and suspension. Again, these are not major problem areas as they are not having a high incidence in reporting, but you should be aware of it (and in the case of braking issues, it may just be brake pads needing replacment).

The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) is notorious for failing, which is unsafe. NHTSA has reported one death and 8 injuries from crashes because of this. The door handle mechanisms are prone to breaking, so owners have to roll down the window to open from the outside. It is only $150, but it could be a problem. The transmission is jerky, but not prone to failing. The $400 throttle body also breaks easily. A/C problems are also common. Overall, not a good car. If you have to buy an American car, the Chevy Malibu was much better. Otherwise get a Camry as they are MUCH more reliable.
