On my 2015 Fusion 1.5 I often use the "S" mode when accelerating, whichmay alleviatesyour acceleration issue.

That could be anything. Transmission or engine. Those Fusions had recalls and additional problems with the throttle body, which is possibly the issue. Biggest problem was power steering failure.
