Intermittent misfire in 6th gear. Mechanic for one year was not able to replicate problem. Transmission flush was done, but did not fix it. Took into ship, all 6 spark plugs were worn and replaced as well as the boots. Problem immediately stopped. Very common with this car, its not a tranny problem if it stutters going up a slight incline at 40-60 mph, it's most likely your spark plugs! Calipers were seized. A click click click motion had been heard braking in the months prior. Instead of replacing all four were disassembled and rescrewed and lubed up. Problem went away.

First set of Monroe Quick-Strut units had been replaced with another set, which made terrible noise under steering input. Diagnosed the problem as strut mount bearings, so the shop ordered Motorcraft replacements and installed those with the Monroe struts and springs underneath. This cured all of the issues. We don't know why the Monroe mounts didn't want to rotate when installed, because when they were on the bench, they rotated just fine.

One touch up/down stopped functioning after car was taken in for the 1st warranty item, replacement of the battery by the dealer which was determined to be defective. It was determined that the driver's window motor was faulty and the dealer replaced it. When I was changing the oil and filter at home noticed the threaded shaft that the filter screws onto was itself loose and partially unscrewed from the block. I took it in to have it secured to factory specs.

As I pulled out of a business driveway onto urban state highway, halfway around the turn, sudden and unexpected loud 'bang' and car slammed into a sudden stop with loud grinding sound. I limped it to the first safe place to pull in and called for road service. Trucked it to the place I bought it and that does my routine maintenance. Turned out to be problem caused by extreme rusting of driver's side brake/wheel. A large piece of rust had broken loose and jammed the brake, scored the rotor severely. No problem since it was taken apart, cleaned, replaced the damaged part.
