Trying to connect my cell phone via Android Auto app and unit will not recognize any of the USB ports in my truck. Any help would be appreciated. Cell phone displays \\\"Communication Error 8\\\"

It is a design flaw with the truck. It has been reported that theports inside the console need to be replaced and then it solves the problem.

I'ave also read that it's a time/date/DST issue and setting it up exacly as you phone has it.

ztrech - nice low tech, cheap option if it works. It worked on that VW, maybe it will work on this GMC. If not, I would do what GM recommends.
