Are 2014 - 2016 CR-Vs loud? I test drove a 2016. I could hear all the outside noieses while on the road. It didn't sound like tire noise, more like air escape noise. Are all newer CR-Vs this loud or wish this isolated?

I have a 2015 CrV EX-L Nav with about 25,000 miles on it. "Is it loud?" is a very subjective question. To me, it is not. I find it to be a very stable, comfortable, economical, and fairly quiet highway cruising vehicle.

Honda revised the CR-V somewhat for the 2015 model year. Changes included a more handling-oriented suspension. I haven't yet driven one myself, but these changes might make the ride more firm.

Hondas often have more road noise than competitors, but you describe something different. I wonder if something was wrong with the door or window seals on the 2016 you drove. Either way, you might want to drive a 2012-2014 to see if it's more to your liking.

I have a 2016 CR-V EX-L - I agree that the road noise is a subjective question, but do not find that an issue. I don't find it noiser than other vehicles I have owned (Ridgeline, CR-V, Pilot). I can say that once I got a honda I never went anywhere else.

WE have a 2013 Honda CRV. It is terrible loud--both road noise and air flow. I have a decible meter and took it on a ride one day. On new macadam roads it is not bad, but on concrete roads the noise level is louder than the average vacuum cleaner. My hearing is not good and I can't hear the radio above all the noise. I would never get another CRV because of the noise. Other than that it is not a bad car.

It seems to be very sensitive to tire noise. The OEM Continentals are middle of the road for noise, especially as they get worn. I had a set of Coopers on mine for about 30k miles that got extremely loud by the time they got near the wear bars, so I went back to the Continentals for the latest set of tires.

Our GMC Terrain with Active Noise Control is really quiet at cruise and around the city. Acceleration is noisey with the 2.4l bit once up to speed it will not leave your ears rings with tinnitus . I hate loud cars like my wife's prior 2012 Forester it reminded me of a tin box that you had to crank up the radio on the highway.
