2013-2014 Odyssey Reliability

Ask the People Who Own One:

2011 - 2018 Honda Odyssey
chbell2004

So our 2005 Odyssey has served us pretty well and is now close to 200K miles and we are ready for a trade. Other than a known motor mount issue and power steering pump failure (that Honda eventually reimbursed me for) no major issues.

Just wondering from actual owners of 2013-2014 models if I can expect same kind of reliabilty in those years? Any major recalls or issues anyone has experienced?

Our 2013 has been very reliable. The only issue has been the gas gauage doesn't work very well... JLM

Our 2011 (first year of this generation) has had a few minor issues. I'm not concerned about long-term reliability, but it appears from the survey results that 2012 forward got most of the kinks out. As long as you find a properly cared for example, you should get similar results.

We've had no problems with our used 2012 after owning it for a year. It's taken us on several long haul trips, including one of 1600km there and 1600km back, in complete comfort. You will be pleased as a Odyssey owner.

There was a recall for the second row of seats that needed a clip installed. It was quickly done at the dealer.

Biggest tip I can give you, is to make sure if your used Odyssey has a keyed start, to insist you get keys in good condition because they are prone to crack and break. The dealers are cheap and don't want to replace them. If your Odyssey has pushbutton start, then a broken key is not something to worry about.
