Known defect on the Ridgeline is the Denso radiators have dissimilar metals at the inlet and outlet pipe. The welded washers at bottom of radiator became weak and a transmission line blew at the bottom of the radiator. Almost ruined the transmission with the dreaded pink milkshake. This Honda Ridgeline has been the biggest POS our family has ever owned. Repairs are expensive. If you are going to do any kind of towing or hauling, a Ridgeline is not the truck for the job. We've spent thousands maintaining and repairing this truck while are GM trucks just need routine maintenance.

Radiator failed while driving leaking radiator fluid into transmission. The radiator hose connections corroded. Repair required radiator replacement and multiple transmission fluid flushes. Vehicle has increased difficulty shifting from first to second (this was present before prior repair) and flashing D indicator light would occasionally come on. Brought back to shop, solenoid code checked and reset, transmission fluid drained, dirty with shavings, refilled, Recommendation from Tech is transmission needs replacement

Replaced transmission w Honda Rebuilt Tranny, warranty of 3 years unlimited miles. Had lost 2nd gear, should have been diagnosed several trips before, wasted about $400 on other attempts to save Tranny. Do not wait to replace radiator lines and radiator -it was the failure of those two that brought on significant transmission issues though I can't be 100% sure the tranny wasn't on it's way out. Had AC motor and compressor replaced while in for Tranny repair - the compressor blew previous summer when truck was at Dealer's to have short in tow lights fixed.
