clutch

Ask the People Who Own One:

2006 - 2011 Hyundai Accent

What would be the expected life of a clutch in a 2011 Hyundai 5 speed. My grandson is driving the car and wondered what the life expectancy of the clutch and what would the cost be to replace the clutch. Any other parts replacement to consider when doing the clutch?

My nephew came up to me about 5 years ago with a 2010 accent roughly 75 Thousand Miles I pulled it apart cuz he wanted a new clutch but there was nothing wrong with it I figured it can last hundred thirty thousand miles at least but since he wanted to drive for a pizza delivery I replace the clutch with some sachs clutch kit still running with about 220,000 miles right now last time I checked for his oil change. Clutch job with parts $400 tops.

Clutches last depending on usage. In a lot of stop and go traffic? The clutch may be lucky to last 50,000 miles. Do nearly 100% of your driving on the highway? Making it past 100,000 miles is possible if you are crusing at the speed limit. Without an idea what kind of driving the car is doing, impossible to make a guess. Also, depending how good the user's shifting is, the longer it can last.

Cost is a different matter. That depends on your location which is where you get a deviation in price. According to paypal.com,The average cost for a Hyundai Accent Clutch Replacement is between$701 and $1152.Labor costs are estimated between $272 and $666 while parts are priced between $429 and $486. Estimate does not include taxes and fees.

Good luck.
