Finally watched a uTube vidoe and saw that I needed to lift up the broken track on the sun roof (made of plastic) because it had broken and would no longer close. It is now closed but I doubt I'll be using the roof again. Apparently it's over $1K to actually repair the broken plastic rail because the roof lining needs to be removed.
