My 2017 runs very smooth around town, but when I get on freeway speed the back feels like it's swaying back and forth. Had the tires balanced and it did improve but it still does it on the freeway where the road is cement with the grooved lines etched in. It doesn't do it when the freeway is black asphalt. Could it possibly be the tires? The dealership says everything checks out fine, so not sure if anyone else has the same problem?
Sounds like your car is "tramlining" ie. following grooves or cracks on the highway especially on concrete highways. I have a Yaris that I replaced the factory tires after only 930 miles because it was so bad. Replaced them with Kuhmo touring tires. Kuhmo tires have a thinner, flexiable sidewall which reduced tramlining by 80-85%.

hello, tramlining is a new word for me, thank you I will do some research. The tires on my Hyundai are the ones that came with car and unbelievable but true are Kuhmo Solus. I recently saw in Consumer Reports that they were listed #10 in my class of cars as good tires. I read somewhere to change them to Michelin and that would fix the problem. but since they are factory tires I want to wear the tread out a bit more. I only have 11,700 miles on it so far.

Sorry for the delay. I'm surprised that your Kumhos maybe causing your problem. I read several articles that OEM tires are not exactly the same as after market tires even thought they are the exact same brand and model. OEM tires are spec'd for (in many cases) for maximum mpg. After market Kumho tires have flexiable sidewalls which (I believe) absorbs and mitigates road imperfections.
All I can say is they work for me. As they say, "your milage (results) may vary.
