What Our Members Are Saying about the Seat Room and Comfort of the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Seat Room and Comfort: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 2dr Coupe 348-horsepower 3.8L V6
6-speed manual RWD
Driving position w/ power seat is excellent. More than adequate headroom for an average sized person. Passenger seat rides lower. Instrumentation is clear and logical, though two of the three gauges on the console are silly at best: while Oil Temp is good to know, Torque and MPG gauges are totally unnecessary. An ammeter, voltmeter, coolant temp, or oil pressure gauges would be preferable to those two gimmicks. The Track model has "everything" except memory seats/mirrors, a power passenger seat, a lock on the glove box, and a rear camera. see full Hyundai Genesis Coupe review

The seats are good for only animals and small children. The trunk is huge, but the opening is small. The back seat folds down. see full Hyundai Genesis Coupe review

2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Seat Room and Comfort: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 2dr Coupe turbocharged 274hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual RWD
There is very little headroom in the rear. Anyone over 5'3" is going to have their head either touching or nearly touching the roof/rear glass. Pretty much anyone over 5'7" is going to have to cock their head to the side. The rear seat has decent leg room behind my seat (I am 5'11"). Access is also decent for a 2-door due to the long doors. see full Hyundai Genesis Coupe review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Powertrain of the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Powertrain: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 2dr Coupe 348-horsepower 3.8L V6
6-speed manual RWD
Performance: 3.8 engine is smooth and has run flawlessly so far after 15k miles. Lots of power behind the 348 horses with a nice note as well. The manual transmission is closely geared, so you will shift alot in traffic from a stop. However, there is lots of torque (295 ft/lbs) and in moving traffic, 3d gear will carry you along. The Clutch takes some getting used to. It is heavy, not unlike a truck clutch, and the drive-by---wire throttle means even a little bit of pressure on the accelerator can quickly put you over 2k rpm making for some noisy starts from the line. You get used to it, but a Honda Civic this is not. Acceleration is outstanding. It hugs the road as if on rails, and feels Highly stable on the Highway. Expect 26-27 mpg on the highway at 75-80 mph. 20-21 around town. see full Hyundai Genesis Coupe review
2013 2dr Coupe turbocharged 274hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual RWD
The 2.0T is a very strong engine overall. There is moderate turbo lag, but once it spools up there is a lot of midrange torque. It pulls very hard in first and second, and even accelerates pretty hard in third. It fades a little at the upper end of the rev range (above ~4500 rpm), but overall for the money this has excellent straight-line performance. see full Hyundai Genesis Coupe review
2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Powertrain: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 2dr Coupe 348-horsepower 3.8L V6
6-speed manual RWD
The clutch is heavy and imprecise. I'm not into mods but I would consider an early change out to a lightweight FW and performance clutch. A CAI would probably smooth out an already smooth engine. see full Hyundai Genesis Coupe review
2013 2dr Coupe turbocharged 274hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual RWD
The 6-speed manual isn't a great gearbox. The ratios are very well spaced, but the actual shifting is mediocre at best. The shift action feels rubbery and engagements aren't positive. I haven't missed a shift, but it doesn't encourage shifting just for fun. The clutch is also somewhat numb. This combined with the on-off nature of the turbo engine can make driving smoothly challenging, especially in low speed, stop-and-go conditions. see full Hyundai Genesis Coupe review
2011 2dr Coupe turbocharged 210hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual RWD
The car is to heavy for only 210 HP. I should have bought the V6 instead. see full Hyundai Genesis Coupe review
