Introduction

Tech package on this car surpasses some of the more expensive cars out there.

Why the 2013 Hyundai Veloster?

Exterior styling

After owning this car for almost 19 months, people still sometimes ask me what I'm driving at gas stations.

Audio & nav systems

I have the upgraded Dimension audio. It's decent enough and with sounds quite good for a car at this price range. I like the fact that one of the settings keeps the music focused on the driver. BlueLink however is a disappointment for me. Everytime you try to call all you hear is the other end ringing. Not worth the price they're asking for the service

Tires

I cant wait till the tires wear out so I can replace them with better ones. Threadwear is good but it's noisy.

Fuel economy

I get on average 33mpg with mostly tollway driving at about 70mph or higher.

Warranty, maintenance cost

Hyundai still offeres the best warranty. They have also been very helpful. My main issue with the car is my keyfob keeps losing its programming every few months. Not really sure what's causing it. I'm just glad they dont charge for reprogramming the keyfob

Why Not the 2013 Hyundai Veloster?

Color choices

Small cars look good in bright colors. I was disappointed the green color was dropped.

Quietness

This is not one of the quietest cars around. Wished Hyjndai used acoustic glass everywhere. But at this price point it's pretty decent.

Other Features of the 2013 Hyundai Veloster

Rear seat room & comfort

This car is best suited for couples and single people. It can hold a lot of stuff. Six footers can fit comfortably in front but not too well in the back because of the low roofline.

Conclusion

I'm still loving this car after 19 months of ownership. I did drive the turbo version and that's more fun compared to the NAV. It's way too soon to say how reliable this car is going to be. I have a 1998 Nissan Altima that still runs great and I keep for guests.
