Very neutral. It can tend to plow at the limit with your foot in it, but is easily correctable. It does feel heavy, but not as heavy as its curb weight would have you believe.
The VQ is a proven engine. I have had no problems to date and expect it to last a very long time.
46k miles now and no rattles, even with the racing abuse I put it through.
