My 2014 Cherokee has most options including tow package (best option deal going), panoramic roof, 8.4 uconnect, back-up camera and cold weather group.
Currently have 12,000 kms (7,500 mi) and have had no trouble whatsoever. Live in mountains and most of mileage has been towing trailer (3,500 lbs) through hot, mountainous terrain. Only complaint is sometimes front end seems light when starting with trailer on. Has not affected steering.
Build date was Jan 4, 2014 and I have not had any transmission issues. First service at 10,500 kms (6550 mi) and still had 25% oil life left, but as I was pulling trailer for for most of that I had it done early. Switched to synthetic oil and also switched tires to Nokian All Weather WRG 3 SUVs - a better choice for climate I live in.
Seats are very comfortable on long drives, cabin is quiet and everything works as advertised. I have not done off roading but have done back roading and it runs great on rough roads, mud and loose gravel.
Cargo capacity could be better, but I knew that going in and was more interested in trailer towing capacity in this class of vehicle and it is very good.
Previously owned a Land Rover which we really liked but after a break down in middle of nowhere wanted a vehicle that could be repaired almost anywhere. So far that has not been an issue whatsoever. Very happy with purchase. Sometimes wish I had gone for Trailhawk, but would seldom use its capability.
