The engine was strong for its size, and the Rio accelerated nicely in highway situations. I never felt that I was wanting for power, even if the engine was a bit coarse.

The dealer had loaded up all of its Rios with dealer-installed aftermarket security systems ($600). Furthermore, the salesman I worked with was very pushy and rude.
