Reviewed: 2004 Kia Sorento

4dr SUV turbocharged 138hp 2.5L I4 Diesel 5-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range

Why the 2004 Kia Sorento?

Exterior styling

Great modern looking SUV with nice lines and its neither too boxy or too curvy, great chrome trim on the door handles and tailgate. The glass in the tailgate also opens up so you can remove items when the back is full.

Powertrain performance

Great performance on and off road, low range for extra power in tough conditions and a smooth powerful onroad performance thats great for overtaking, does 100mph with no problems

Audio & nav systems

The standard stereo may not be great but the sorento has been fitted out with decent speakers and its factory fitted Double DIN bay and ISO connector means any stereo can easily be added. I used a Kenwood DNX-5220BT and it sounds great and looks factory

Materials & workmanship

The sorentos build quality is excellent, the leather on the seats does not feel cheep and the dashboard doesnt feel plasticy, the vehicle is reliable as hell and mine hasnt had anything major done in 80,000 miles

Why Not the 2004 Kia Sorento?

Quietness

the 2.5 turbo diesel is loud outside and a little loud while accelerating, inside the cabin you dont notice, but people will tell you
