2012 Range Rover Supercharged reliability?

Ask the People Who Own One:

2010 - 2012 Land Rover Range Rover
Member1664

I own a 2012 Range Rover Supercharged. It's seems to be very well care for with only 26k miles. Pristine in every way. I just wanted to find out if any one has owned this iteration can shed some light on the overall reliability and durability of the model.
Although beautiful and an absolute joy to drive, I understand it can get expensive to maintain. I wanted some insight as to past ownership experiences. If any one can shed some light and their experiences, it would be awesome as True Delta does not have much info on this model. Thanks.

You are right, very limited data because so few are sold. However, I am good friends with my mechanic as he knows I can work on my own car and at times I use his shop (paying for its use) to work on my old Saab (until a tree fell on it two month ago).

In any case, he learned to work on the Land Rover becuase many of his customers own one and the things break all the time. In fact, he bought an 8 year old version of the car to work on it and learn how to fix it. He told me of all the things he has to repair. The air suspension is a trouble point. So are minor engine problems and major transmision rebuilds. The AC fan breaks frequently as well as the power steering pump. Some have elecrtical issues on top of all of that.

They are wonderful cars to drive as he let me drive the 8 year old Land Rover when I get my Subaru serviced. However, you are going to be in a world of pain fixing the expensive car regularly. It is why Consumer Reports gives it a 1 out of five rating, as it is one of the most unreliable cars on the market. The only thing worse than a Land Rover is a Fiat, and some cars from Chrysler (like the Challenger) come close to the huge number of problems they have.

You get the car you will probably love it - but it wil ride you to the bank over time. My mechanic who I trust would never ever get one, and he fixes them. Best of luck.

Lectrofuel - great video. Mirrors what I know about the car exactly. Great to drive, very unreiable to known. To find a man online with a video describing those repairs is excellent. Thanks.
