We have 2014 no mechanical problems. The infotainment system glitches sometimes that is the only negative, it hasn't happened in a while
great gas mileage and fun to drive i. sport mode. takes corners very nicely.

Looking for a mazda3, how good/reliable are these cars?

Hi, im in the market for a used compact car. I have my eyes set on either the mazda3 or the honda civic. I like the mazda3 skyactiv because of its sleek design. The 2nd generation mazda3 is also nice but I'm not sure i really like the design which is why its pushing me towards the skyactiv. However, my budget is just 10k or less and I thik with that money i can barely afford a skyactive mazda3. My family thinks i should get a mazda6 cuz its larger but i prefer the compact. I know some mazda3 are made in mexico but i want the one straight from Japan. For those who have made in japan mazda how good is the car. Is the car reliable and is it worth buying used or should I just go for the honda civic like everyone else and call it a day? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

We have a 2015 and 2017 and they have been good cars. On 2014-2016 models they have an infotainment problem that they extended the warranty for. It's nice that they stand behind their products despite being such a small company. The 2nd and 3rd gens are considerably more reliable than the 1st gen, which was made in part with Ford. The Skyactiv engines are much better in terms of efficiency and have been very reliable. Those are the models to get.
