Why the 2006 Mazda Mazda3?

Handling

Sharp turn in, very little torque steer, grips like a beggar holding onto a dollar bill. You point it, it will go, never feels like it going to lose it. Turn radius nice and tight too.

Exterior styling

Get positive comments all the time - looks like the old BMW M Coupe, not a bad comparison.

Front seat room

One of the very few small cars which have a telescopic steering wheel - great for switching between short and tall drivers, pedals placed well for comfort, gear shifter just the right length, and clutch is goldilocks as well - just right.

Why Not the 2006 Mazda Mazda3?

Reliability & durability

I am getting an intermittent CEL coming on, and it seems to be missing every now and then. Not sure if it is bad tank of gas, or a plug is dirty, but it is a little disconcerting. Sometimes when you pull away you feel it jerk a little, and then it kicksin

Quietness

There is only a single weather strip on the doors, so if you have noisy tires prepare for some background din. I am also hearing the rear axle more than i would have thought - hope it is just them noisy Z rated tires.

Rear seat room & comfort

If you are over 6 foot like me, make sure you are not in the back. That simple. The folding seats on the hatchback are flexible though for longer items.
