Controls and instruments
Nothing completely wrong with this, the design was good but found the Ion to be a little better in this department as far as layout. Only issue in the Ion was too much use of plastic. gave a cheep feel to the car.
Front seat room
The Mazda seemed too cramped up front as compared to the Ion.
Driving position & visibility
Once more, nothing very wrong here it was adequate, but the Ion was just better.
Interior styling
The Mazda seemed too enclosed and claustrophobic compared to the Ion especially with a black leather interior.
