Why the 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class?

Exterior styling

The styling grows on you...my wife and I think it is an elegant design. I like it from all angles, front, back and side, including the top. It is sleek and wind cheating.

Handling

The steering is beautifully "damped" and very stable and smooth on the freeway requiring minimal input. Can rush around a curve or down a rough rode at much higher speed than expected. Its faster than you think, so keep the cruise control on!

Ride smoothness

Incredibly smooth, just does not have the usual American little constant jiggling, but is dead smooth on the freeway. On bad stretches of road its not "isolated", but yet not "rough", but is controlled and does not bounce around- its a Benz!

Quietness

Its a Mercedes type of quiet- the faster you go, it does not get noisier, but almost quieter in a strange way. It sounds very similar to flying in a small jet, with a pleasant very quiet slow varying hum the way a jet engine varies slightly. We love it.
