Reviewed: 2001 Mercury Sable

4dr Sedan 200-horsepower 3.0L V6 4-speed automatic FWD

Why the 2001 Mercury Sable?

Exterior styling

Very aero dynamic. Slices thru wind easily and helps assist with gas mileage.

Fuel economy

For a V6 engine with 200 horse power this vehicle is a bit of a camel. I was pleasently surprise that a used vehicle with over 70K could still run so efficently.

Handling

Smooth, Smooth, Smooth.

Ride smoothness

Feels like I am riding in a Lincoln.

Rear seat room & comfort

I am 6"4" and the fact that I can sit behind myself in the back seat comfortably says a lot.

Why Not the 2001 Mercury Sable?

Color choices

I see my car everywhere I go!

Cargo capacity

The trunk design, cut out makes it hard to lift and load large obejects. I appreciat the fact the trunk is deep but a bigger opening would be a lot better.

Brand reputation & image

People dismiss Mercury altogether. It is an upscale Ford and a Poor mans Lincoln.

Depreciation

I am have no comment.

Conclusion

It is now March 31, 2015 and I am sad to say now at the 145,000 mark. It is time for me to move on and let go.

I have enjoyed this vehicle immensley and the number of trips I made to NY and VA back and forth in rain, cold, and heat I was never once stranded and countless time this vehicle was over packed and never felt underpowered until now.

Her wear and tear have caught up to her and problem galore occuring with the engine. It is now time to say goodbye to a loyal and faithful friend.

Thanks for the years of good service and reliability. Will be missed.
