Why the 2009 Mini Clubman?

When they say go-kart handling - they are not lying. Nice thing is that it manages to maintain respectable ride quality while flying through the turns with no visible effort.

Powertrain performance

1.6L 4-cylinder is a small engine. Add a turbocharger to it and it will surprise you. You get a smile when you step on the accelerator and you get a smile when the time comes to fill up the car.

Materials & workmanship

BMW build quality makes its way into MINI brand in everything from seating surfaces to headliner and plastic parts.

Why Not the 2009 Mini Clubman?

Reliability & durability

Could be just rumors - too early to tell.

Price or payments

The car is not cheap. A well-equipped Clubman S will cost you as much as a year-old 3-series BMW.

Ride smoothness

Not an issue for me, but can be an issue for people who are used to anemic, but comfortable Toyotas and Buicks.

Your review of the Clubman is spot on! I love mine just for the handling alone but the mpg is a bonus.
