I am thinking of buying Nissa Altima 2016. I will like some advice as to whether I should by it or not. I am considering reliability and cost of maintenance.

Thank you for your response.

We've had ours for going on six years now and have had no major problems. Had to replace lower control arms in the front just recently, and brakes all around...but otherwise has just been typical upkeep and maintenance on our 2003 Altima...we actually just sold it this weekend with about 82,000 miles on it.

I have a 2014 Altima S w/ the 2.5 liter engine. I commute in this car 25 miles each way, 5-6 days a week. I always get at least 29 mpg. The 2.5 has plenty of get up and go and I prefer to use the Sport mode for the virtual gear shifts. The car is very responsive when you push it and driving is fun and very sporty. I have never seen the oil level drop between 5,000 mile changes and that impresses me due to the 0W-20W viscosity oils Nissan recommends.

I have had absolutely no problems with the car mechanically or electrically. The bluetooth works 99% of the time with my phone and I enjoy being able to listen to music on a USB drive, an MP3 disc, or off my phone. The only gripe is that I can't get the voice recognition feature to "fine-tune". The instructions do not work. As long as I remember to pronounce names the way the system wants me to, I'm fine. But, it truly is the only feature that doesn't work as well as it should.

I would recommend the leather if you have pets, as the fabric seats, while very comfortable, grab every stray hair and piece of lint that comes in contact with it.

Otherwise, I would buy this car again, even though I am not totally enamored with the looks.

You might want to have a copy of service history of an older CVT as the fluid interval is more frequent than torque converter based transmissions.

We bought our Altima new in 2007 and it has 191k miles and its been perfect besides the recalled transmission that was replaced under warranty. Oil replaced every 4000-5000 mile intervals and CVT fluid every 60k kept it running.
