2002 Nissan Maxima Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by neroller

Powertrain performance
The engine is/was a screamer, the 6spd sealed the deal over the Tl-S. Clutch is not as stout as it could be, and somewhat VAGUE in engagement/operation.
Exterior styling
Classic styling - albeit a bit bland. I still admire it after 7 yrs. of ownership. The paint is not very durable however....
Discounts & incentives
Good dealer incentives and financing options, if you wait for the right deal.
Ride smoothness
The OEM SE suspension is/was TERRIBLE! Active Beam link rear is just sluggish, and all struts are over-damped, under-sprung. Aftermarket bits HELP this, but the inherent design is majorly flawed, even for a SEDAN.
Insurance cost
High ins. rates due to motor output -- this car took a faster nose-dive on depreciation than the stock market in 2008!
