2008 - 2012 Nissan Pathfinder
dirkfour4

Looking to replace a Honda Element and have found a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder with 147,000 miles on it. My Honda only had 52,000!
What is the maintenance like on this vehicle: both cost and how often?

The 2009-2012 Pathfinders were reliable. The 2005-2008 were very unreliable. In these years, the coolent leaks onto the transmission and kills the radiator and transmission costing 4 grand. 2013-2018 is having transmission failures. I don't see why you should trade your Element for the Nissan. The Element has much less miles, is reliable, more fuel efficient, has a more comfortable ride, and better handling. The Pathfinder only off-roads, tows more, and accelerates quicker than the Element.

The schedule for maintenance on the Pathfinder is every 5000 miles. Here is the schedule for a 2016 Pathfinder though 150,000 miles. I assume you repeat the schedule another 150,000 from that point on. Just note that is a very old car you are trying to maintain so it is bound to cost more to maintain than your newer Element (I admit, not a great car but it is a Honda and is bound to last longer).
