78000 mi | Interior door panel insert on driver's door is pushing into the door when pressed. Dealer confirmed clips behind door insert broken, offered to try adhesive (but no warranty) or order new door panel. Opted for no repair for now. |
140000 mi | Noticed a musty smell in the car that wouldn't go away. I had noticed it before, but it always went away in a day or two. It finally got persistent enough to cause me to investigate further. I found the foam pad under the carpet in the cargo area was soaking wet. Further investigation found water standing in the tool bin under the rear seat floor board, rusting the car's OEM jack and tool kit. I removed the foam pad and cargo mat and dried out the water. I asked the dealer to investigate next time I went in for a preventive maintenance appointment, and they suspected a leak in the cargo area (duh) but couldn't find the leak. Repair unsuccessful. I had read that water often gets into the cargo area of cubes via gaps around the cabin pressure relief vents above the rear bumper. Owners online who had this problem said to use silicone sealant around the vents to stop the issue. It's a difficult job to do from the inside of the car (the alternative being removal of the rather large rear bumper cover and taillights to do the job from the outside -- also difficult, especially if you lack a garage space, as I do). This repair attempt at home after the dealer failed to find a leak also proved ultimately unsuccessful. |
US $15 | Replaced 96327WD200 BASE-INSIDE MIRROR Located between mirror and roof. Designed to break if mirror is hit but it broke when adjusting for new driver. New part appears to be the same so will probably break again. |
26300 mi US $78 |
Steering wheel cover (leather) peeling away. Dealer replaced, but I had to pay for a front end alignment when they couldn't correctly align the replacement steering wheel. |
6000 mi | Driver side window weather stripping was loose and not conforming to the window frame. Dealer inspected and order part. Went in for the repair and an oil change. Glue required longer than expected "dry" time. Dealer offered and provided another vehicle during this wait time. Repair completed satisfactorily. |
22700 mi | plastic creaking rattle in driver's side B-pillar/drivers door area...third time repaired involve d a new door panel...still hear it, but not quite as loud...thinking of giving another dealer a crack at it. |
55000 mi | Roughly a year ago I noticed that upon close inspection, inner door panel not installed correctly. Dealer pulled it apart and reinstalled it correctly. The rattle/creak was back, though not to the degree or loudness it was at when I first had it fixed. |
Someone at Deery's tried to burn in sheet metal lag screws into the machined thread license plate mount, nut clips. One clip I managed to remove, the other was a no-go I had to cut off with a die grinder. |

12 mi | Rear view mirror came loose. Plastic retainer was broken but I did not notice until after I bought the car. Dealer replaced the part the next day. Dealership said there will probably be a recall or TSB for it. |
34300 mi | The right taillight lens developed a stress crack. The dealer replaced the lens under warranty. |
24000 mi | Crack in the windshield. They said it was stressed from factory install. It was chipped on bottom below black coating. Had a bad noise when recirculate was on. Thats how they found the crack. |
3000 mi | Hatch and rear doors have rattles |
20000 mi | Hatch and rear doors still had rattles when sold. |
5000 mi | Rearview mirror fell off two weeks after purchase. |
37500 mi | Intermittent, but persistent, rattle from somewhere under the dash resulted in the dealer replacing the entire dashboard (under warranty). |

Hub caps |
21000 mi | Crack appeared in bottom corner of windshield. Not due to impact dealer suspects windshield was stressed during factory installation. |
190 mi | Checked car very thoroughly. Found no defects or noises while driving. The only "flaw" which has been reported by others on the NissanCubeLife forum, is the misalignment of the dash to the door panels; mostly on the passenger side. |
