Replaced both hoses. Engine temperature rose quickly at times with the vehicle stopped, but engine never overheated. Replaced radiator, radiator cap and thermostat as a preventive measure. The engine coolant temperature does not seem to rise as quickly as it used to when the car is stopped, so I believe the problem is fixed.
