Cayenne Reliability and Safe Purchase Mileage :)

Ask the People Who Own One:

2011 - 2025 Porsche Cayenne
redheadjessoh

Hello!

I am wanting to buy a 6-cylinder Cayenne, only because of fuel economy. What inititally caught my eye was a 2012 green model, but it sold the morning I called to inquire on it. My grandpa had a Porsche, but I was young and therefore never learned too much about them.

So, I'm wondering lots of things... but mainly I'm trying to figure out what is an acceptable mileage to purchase at, used. I typically drive about 30,000+ miles/year. Obviously I don't want to get one with 200K. Is their life expectancy reliable enough that I could get one with 130K miles or so on it, and (hopefully) enjoy it with minimal repairs for at least a couple of years? Of course I'd want to verify a solid maintenance record before I'd purchase any car, especially a Porsche.

I'd LOVE to have a third gen, but that's out of my price range and I don't have the luck to score a major deal somewhere. Any recommendations on more reliable years or "RUN AWAY!!!" years? How about what to look for before buying, like common issues?

Are Porsche Cayennes reliable enough to buy used if you drive over 30K miles every year? Would you do it?

This is my first post, so I'm really looking forward to your responses :)

Thanks!

P.S. If anyone knows a year after and besides 2012 that they used that gorgeous green color, feel free to let me know. It's my color!
