The European styled seats are great! Very supportive, but not too firm, and the seat back adjustment is exceptionally simple. see full review |

I run 6', 300# and this is one of the few smaller cars I can drive in reasonable comfort while taking the back roads. Nice lateral support and my back doesn't give me fits when I get out. see full review |

I have the cloth seats, which I had read didn't offer good back or thigh support. I find this to be very untrue even without adjustable lumbar support. I did switch out my stock steering wheel with a leather VXR wheel from Britain, which REALLY gave this car a premium feel. The stock seats support my back very well (6'2") and also find there to be just enough leg room with my seat almost all the way back, thigh support is a bit lacking, but for such a tiny car they really did a good job making it feel like a much bigger car. I also highly recommend buying and installing the Boomerang armrest and cup holder to maximize your Astra comfort. see full review |

My only concern about front seat room isn't about the seats at all, but that the peddles in the 5 speed are very small and very very close together, which for me with size 13 feet can create a problem. I have caught my feet together and accidently stomped on the break when trying to push in the clutch, which upsets everyone driving behind me, but provides a good laugh for me. see full review |

With the 138 HP ecotech engine it is nimble at lower gear ranges. see full review |

Peppy, Had a lot of fun driving around town as the power band with the 5 speed is pretty much set up for fighting moving traffic (3rd and 4th) and not half bad for such a small engine on the freeway between 55 and 85 see full review |

The little engine in this car performs well, when paired with the 5 speed manual. You can really feel how small the engine is in the first two gears, however third and fourth really take off and get you moving. I was first worried at how high the RPMs are in overdrive when going 70-85mph, however this gives this little engine an amazing ability to accelerate from 60-80 in very little time, which when considered alongside the impressive handling, makes this car simply a blast to drive. The clutch and transmission are both very smooth and due to the hydraulic clutch make this car very hard to stall, however I find that the clutch, in very cold weather, will hesitate to disengage or when the A/C is running in very hot weather. Because of the tiny 1.8L engine this car really does drive noticeably different when running the A/C, it's nothing you can't compensate for; just make sure to give it a little more gas. see full review |

The only motor is the 1.8L GM minny mouse 4 cyl. and it just doesnt have alot of passing power even with a down shift or two. Also the 5 speed really needs to be a six. 65mph is over 3k RPM and is sucking gas that could be better used with another gear. see full review |

Came from a 300hp v8 so the power just feels a lil lacking. Could benefit from about 20 or so HP and 15-20ft/lbs of torque but still is not bad. see full review |

The engine runs MUCH better after about 5K miles as they start off very tight. The car has another 25 hp over the comparable econo boxes that it is priced with. Modify the air box for free. It makes a huge improvement in performance. see full review |

The powertrain is refined, but it could use a little extra horsepower and a sixth gear - engine speed is high at cruising speeds see full review |

Only one engine, the 5 speed needs a 6th gear as the engine revs at 3100 rpm @ 60mph (too high) in 5th. I bought the automatic since at 60mph the engine revs are 2500 rpm. Also, 138hp / 125 lb-ft of torque is on the low side nowadays. see full review |

OK 1.8L gas. FOR GOODNESS SAKE THE BRITS HAVE A 2.2 or the 2.0 Turbo. Heck, even the German diesel has more get up and go than the wimpy 1.8 (or is it 1.6 like my old Fiesta.) Thank goodness I got the 5 speed, I cannot imagine what the auto version is like. see full review |

The engine would benefit from more power, especially with an automatic transmision. The competition (Mazda 3) has nearly 20 hp more, and weighs less, making it noticeably quicker. see full review |
