Why the 2002 Saturn S-Series?

Fuel economy

The car gets good mileage, close to 35 mpg on the highway. I need to replace the intake manifold gasket - that will probably increase the mileage by a few.

Reliability & durability

The car is simple and reliable. When things do go wrong, parts are usually cheap and easy to replace.

Driving position & visibility

The car has excellent visibility all around.

Controls and instruments

Controls are simple and easy to use.

Ride smoothness

The car has a good ride for something so small and light.

Why Not the 2002 Saturn S-Series?

Quietness

This car is not as quiet as the competition. The audio system is pretty good though, so it's easy to drown out road noise.

Front seat room

I am six feet tall and I have the driver's seat pushed back as far as it will go. If my legs were any longer I would need more room. For anybody six feet or shorter or who has short legs for their height, the car is perfectly fine.

Warranty, maintenance cost

It would have been nice if the warranty was a little longer. These are very reliable and inexpensive cars, so it wouldn't have cost the company much to make the warranty five years or even ten.
